Verruca Assessments & Treatments

Verruca Treatment

Assessment and initial treatment £50.

No two verrucae are exactly the same, and there isn’t one treatment that is right for everyone. We’ll assess the verruca, discuss what you’ve already tried, explain the available options and provide treatment during your first appointment. The most expensive option is not automatically the best one.

What Is a Verruca?

A verruca is a wart caused by the human papillomavirus, usually found on the sole of the foot or around the toes. Some disappear naturally. Others remain for years, spread or become painful. Treatment may be worth considering when the verruca is painful, spreading, interfering with activity or simply becoming a persistent nuisance.

What Happens at Your First Appointment?

1. We confirm whether the lesion appears consistent with a verruca.
2. We assess its size, location, duration and number.
3. We discuss previous treatment and the different options available.
4. We provide your initial treatment and explain what we recommend next.

Verrucae Guide
verruto

Verrutop Package

£249 | Six treatments
Treatments are normally spaced 7 to 10 days apart.
Verrutop is applied directly to the verruca and does not require local anaesthetic.
It may be particularly useful for:
Children and younger patients
Smaller verrucae
People wishing to avoid injections or procedures
Patients able to attend regularly

Verruca Needling

Verruca Needling

£399

Includes:

  • Initial assessment and treatment
  • Needling procedure
  • Dressings
  • Two follow-up appointments

Needling is carried out under local anaesthetic.

A sterile needle is used to repeatedly disrupt the verruca tissue with the aim of stimulating an immune response against the virus.

It may be considered for persistent or painful verrucae, particularly when previous treatment has failed or someone would prefer one main procedure rather than repeated applications.

Verruca Laser

Class 4 Laser Verruca Programme

£699 | or £70 per week for 10 weeks
Our most comprehensive non-surgical verruca programme.
It may be considered for long-standing, larger or multiple verrucae, particularly where previous treatments have failed. The programme includes:

  • Initial assessment and treatment
  • 10 weeks of treatment
  • Class 4 laser
  • Reduction or debridement as required
  • Progress reviews
  • Aftercare and ongoing advice

Laser is not presented as a guaranteed cure. We’ll tell you whether we think it is a sensible option before recommending the programme.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is treatment included at my first appointment?

Yes. Your £50 appointment includes assessment and initial treatment.

Are verrucae contagious?

Yes. They are caused by a virus and can spread through direct contact or shared surfaces.

Will mine disappear naturally?

Some do. Others persist for years.

Which treatment is best?

It depends on the verruca and the person. We’ll assess it, begin treatment and explain which route we think is most appropriate.

Is treatment painful?

Verrutop and laser are generally well tolerated. Needling is carried out under local anaesthetic.

Can children be treated?

Yes. Treatment choice depends on age, the verruca and what the child can comfortably tolerate.

Can verrucae return?

Yes. Treatment does not make you permanently immune to the virus.

Do you offer orthotics or insoles?

Yes, where clinically appropriate. We won’t recommend them automatically if we don’t believe they are needed.

How many treatments will I need?

That depends on the treatment selected and how the verruca responds.
